Shawnsmommy -

I'm reading a really good book right now and thought of you. It is called "Quirky, Yes; Hopeless, No: Practical Tips to help Your Child with Asperger's Syndrome Be More Socially Accepted" by Cynthia La Brie Norall. Our son doesn't have Asperger's but does have some similar characteristics as do lots of kids with ADHD, Tourettes, etc. I'm only 1/3 of the way through so far but I have found some really helpful ideas.

Thank you for the book suggestion, I added it to our "books" for parents or therapists section under books/products of this website!

I'm so glad you did that. I literally stumbled upon it at the library - a "new books" display - and I have not been able to put it down. The author is so cheerful and full of joy and you get that from the book. So many of these books are just glum...and this one makes you feel so full of hope and happiness as you read it. We need more books like this.
